European Cowboy Overdrive is a short action reflex driven game made in one week by Julia Del Matto, Agustin Azulay, and Spencer Pilarski. The player must guide the cowboy to the end of the game while avoiding cars, and picking up snacks to activate overdrive. While in overdrive, the cowboy runs fast, gaining momentum. However, failing to pick up snacks and hitting too many cars will slow the cowboy down, and if the police catch up the game is over.
The game was made in Unity, and at the start of the week the title was randomly generated by The Video Game Name Generator (videogamena.me).
Doing so much art in one week was a really big challenge for me, and I ended up happy with some of the assets, and upset with some that I didn't have a lot of time for. I accidentally saved the background for last, and spent most of my time on the character animations.
